Under manager Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid are getting stronger and stronger every year. Unknown players become football superstars. Superstars are sold and the Argentine pick other unknowns and make them superstars again. Falcao, Diego Costa, De Gea, Cortois have all moved away from Vicente Calderon. Yet Atletico stand strong as ever.
Simeone’s team had the nerve to compete for Spanish La Liga title with Barca until the last game of season 2013/14, and eventually win the title at Camp Nou. While in the Champions League, they almost beat Real Madrid at the final.
Currently, the Rojiblancos are second in La Liga, a point above Real Madrid, meaning they are still consistent as La Liga title challengers. While in Champions League, they are about to take PSV Eindhoven.
They will win this tie, because they are now among the strongest in Europe. I know you guys would disagree with me if I say that they are on par with Bayern Muenchen. But, are you going to mock me if I say that they are a bit better than Real Madrid so far? 😉
Okay, the game will start in about two hours. So I have to make some coffee.
Oh… and uh…. I don’t think Manchester City can beat Dynamo Kiev tonight. Kiev are hard to beat at home. Perhaps it would be a draw.
